All these prove that he was a lawless person.

Ans: No doubt, Griffin was a scientist. He made experiments and invented the ways of making human body invisible. But his invention was not meant for any well-being of mankind. A true scientist works for the betterment of mankind. But he did it with evil intentions.

1. Would you like to become invisible? What advantages and disadvantages do you foresee, if you did?

Ans: Yes, I like to become invisible. But there should be provision to become visible again whenever I wish. The advantages and disadvantages are given below :

(i) Advantage : Evil things can be checked. Wrong-doers can be caught.

(ii) Disadvantage : Disorder will prevail in society, there will be confusion everywhere.

2. Are there forces around us that are invisible, for example, magnetism? Are there aspects of matter that are ‘invisible’ to the naked eye? What would the world be like if you could see such forces or such aspects of matter?

3. What makes glass or water transparent (what is the scientific explanation for this)? Do you think it would be scientifically possible for a man to become invisible or transparent?

1. Describe the ‘fight’ between Griffin and Jaffers?

Ans: Mr. Griffin, the constable was secretly called to capture Griffin, the scientist. Arriving there, the constable was surprised that he had to arrest a man without head. But he had to arrest him at any cost. So, he tried to catch the scientist who was becoming more and more invisible. He was also throwing off one garment after another. Finally, a shirt flew in the air. The constable found himself struggling with someone he could not see at all. Some people tried to help him but they received blows only.

In the end, Jaffers was knocked down unconscious He had made a last attempt to catch the unseen man. There were cries of “Hold him”, “Hold him”, But Griffin had freed himself.

2. How did Griffin prove to be a bad scientist ?
